Doc Hastings to Retire – Hochstatter Endorsed Gavin Seim to Run
Today 4th district Congressman Doc Hastings and my worthy opponent announced his retirement saying he will not be running in the 2014 election. This comes on the heels of frustration in the district with Doc’s votes on budgets and privacy issues and rising pressure from his constituents. Doc has served the 4th district for nearly two decades and announced that this will be his final term.
“Two decades ago, the people of Central Washington first voted to place their trust in me to represent them in Congress. In the nine subsequent elections, I’ve been humbled to have been given the privilege to serve as their common sense voice and to work for solutions to improve our local communities and pursue a better, brighter future for our Nation. It is with deep appreciation for that privilege that I announce that this will be my final term in office and that I will not run for reelection in November”
As a candidate who has been running against Doc for some months, this changes the field for me and my team. But our goals remain the same. Despite disagreements with Doc, he has been dedicated to his position for the many years and I wish him the best. It is my prayer that when in Congress myself, I will stand resolute and continually remember that Liberty comes first.
I have been endorsed by former senator Harold Hochstatter and many others from around the community and I’m ready for the next phase of our campaign. “Liberty is not the fringe. Liberty is the foundation. We’ve been paying for change for years. Now is the time.
Congress is broken and out of bounds with the Constitution. This gives the 4th district an opportunity to take back our liberty. I am humbled to see the people of the district placing their trust in the passion I have for that liberty. I have already been endorsed by former senator Harold Hochstatter and many others throughout the district and the rising support has helped launch our grassroots campaign into relevance. I have a wife and three children. I want to see the America dream stay alive. I believe to do that, we need to get congress aligned with the values that has made America great.
When elected I will focus on holding up States rights, voting in line with the Constitution, addressing Americas flood of budget and privacy issues and bringing back Congressional accountability and American values.
Liberty is not the fringe. Liberty is the foundation. Change is coming to America and we are ready for it.
Gavin Seim – 4th District Congressional Candidate.
