THE VACUUM – And How to Avoid It.

Published December 31, 2013 - 0 Comments

THE VACUUM – A state of a discussion where people who disagree drag you back into a spiraling debate by ignoring the case you made and pressing for more — Just like the latest model vacuums at your local store, the spiral appears in different shapes, but the sucking action is pretty much the same.

The WISDOM – This is the solution to THE VACUUM. Communication is important, but a wise man draws a line. He makes his case and he rests his case. After that he steps back out of range of that vacuum’s suck.

We’re all guilty of being on both sides of this. It’s easy to get sucked into THE VACUUM. It’s Harder to harness The WISDOM. But I’m getting plenty of chances to exercise that lately. It’s also important to keep communicating. Don’t use the Vacuum as an excuse to stay silent.

As a wiser man once said — “Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding” – Proverbs 17:28

So folks, even as a Congressman, I will work to communicate like you have never seen from the congress. But if I make my points and let it go at that, don’t be offended. Think about my point and I’ll think about yours – I just won’t get sucked into THE VACUUM 🙂
