Do you know what YOUR congressman is up to?

I made this new poster this week as I was considering how far from the Constitution our congress has fallen.

I’m running for WA 4th District US Congress because our current congressman Doc Hastings has tirelessly supported BIG government — He voted YES for budget increases. NO on stopping the NSA. YES for NDAA. NO on accountability for Homeland Security. The list goes on and on. If it’s big government, Doc probably voted for it – What about your congressman?

We complain about our Congress. We post to Facebook. We throw a shoe at the TV. But do we really STAND UP. Yes, our voice and our values are important. But we need action. We have to man up and stop re-electing people who violate us. Period! Stop thinking it will get better on it’s own. Having and R next to one’s name does not make someone a republican or a lover of liberty. The results of that are self evident.

Things won’t change till WE change them. It’s OUR JOB – WE need to be involved. WE need to know the facts and WE need to take a stand in self governance. We must stop being apathetic when our leaders violate us. It’s not just the way things work. It’s tyranny. Know what your officials are doing on all levels and take a stand.

One good resource is the Freedom Index that lists bills and votes by Constitutional rating. It might come as a surprise to many that Doc’s constitutional score is very low. Look up your congressman and see how they rate on the facts.
