News Release: Massive Rally to Defy i594 on 12/13/14

Published November 7, 2014 - 5 Comments

News release: 11/07/14. Washington State.

TO: All media organizations and groups.
FROM: Gavin Seim, lead organizer of the “I WILL NOT Comply Rally”.

Initiative 594 just passed in Washington State, bringing on residents mandatory gun background checks and making it a felony to privately purchase or even hand a gun to a friend without government permission. We the people of Washington State will not comply with this lawless legislation. The highest law is that of liberty and our Constitution. Our rights will be upheld.

On Dec 13th 2014, just after the law is legally in effect, we stand and disobey the illegal restrictions of i594. We must not wait for our rights to be decided but act swiftly to affirm them. In under 72 hours over 5000 have RSVP’d to this stand on Capitol grounds in Olympia and assert their God given rights.

View the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/788109621237033

Joining in the event will be speakers, patriots and families from across the State to remind our legislators that lawless legislation will not be obeyed and to teach others about their rights.
Will you bow down and lick the boots of tyrants, or will you stand for the liberty of your children? We are not asking permission, we are not standing silent. Our birthright is not theirs to take. We stand peaceful, principled, firm and resolute for the liberty so many have perished for. We stand to uphold law and we will not comply with lawlessness from government.

We Stand! Stand with us.

I am amazed i594 passed. I will be one of the first to show up in Olympia. Saturday December 13th at 11:00 AM. At our State capital. We can stand around and do nothing or be heard. I will NOT comply! Gavin Seim thanks for standing up for our rights and reminding us of our rights.

Hey Gavin,

Just came across and article about the passage of 594, with reference to the NRA, SAF and similar organizations. It mentions your rally as well. Specifically, it references the timing.

Have you considered postponing the rally until a point when legislators are in session? I’d be HAPPY to take a day off work to join. I’ll attend regardless I suspect, but I would like to know we’re making the most of the rally.

Thanks,
Patrick

It is interesting that Bob Calkins the spokesman for the Washington state patrol (state patrol having police jurisdiction on the capital campus grounds) says that “we dont see handing a weapon to someone else as a violation of the law” “we dont see that as a transfer”. Ok, so if temporarily handing a gun to someone is not a violation then why is there a specific section that only allows you to temporarily hand over a weapon if (c) A temporary transfer of possession of a firearm if such transfer is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to the person to whom the firearm is transferred if: (i) The temporary transfer only lasts as long as immediately necessary to prevent such imminent death or great bodily harm; and (ii) The person to whom the firearm is transferred is not prohibited from possessing firearms under state or federal law; Also the definition of transfer in I594 states “Transfer” means the intended delivery of a firearm to another person without consideration of payment or promise of payment including, but not limited to, gifts and loans. What Bob is saying is the oldest lawyer trick in the book. Thats what it says, but thats not what it means, please sign here. Then later on when its to the benefit of the writer, yep thats what it says and thats what it means. For what it’s worth, it would be nice to get a video (or in writing) a statement by the Attorney General stating/agreeing to what Bob Calkins is saying. I also imagine the state patrol would rather not cause a scene and let this rally slide or maybe Bob and the State patrol are displaying a little civil disobedience themselves…very interesting!!!

Hello from Maryland, I have been following this for about 3 days now and I just have to say thank you for educating us all. I have told many people about this event and what you all are doing to stand up for our rights. I live far away and will not have the honor of attending this historic event, but I will lift where I stand here on the east coast. People will know what you brave people are doing for this country. I will spread the word to as many as I can and I will donate for this cause. What gets passed in the west will be a matter of time before they pass it here. I will see to it that hundreds of people will know this story from my mouth. I know we have a chance to take back what we are being cheated out of. Let the fire of education and inspiration inflame those around you. , I know what you brave people are doing is right and I stand with you to the best of my ability for the time being. Send me an email if there is anymore I can do. Please continue to educate us all!
