City Attempts to Sabotage Congressional Race!

Published July 17, 2014 - 24 Comments

My name is Gavin Seim, a Constitutional candidate for Congress. I want our liberty and our country back and the establishment hates me because I call out the corruption and I do not stand down. That is my job. You DO NOT need a permit for your rights and I will defend that!

The City of Moses Lake (509-764-3701) is removing our signs, while leaving up those of competition in the same locations. Why? They insist we have to sign a CONTRACT with them to exercise free speech. This is one of the larger cities in the WA04 district. A place that will ticket you if you leave your car running, ticket you if you park on an “unapproved” surface on your own property and ticket you if your kids ride their bicycles without a helmet. It’s a town that does not want to be challenged.

Moses Lake tears down signsPutting the Crime Together.

Members of the city police, city council, city manager and employes are all implicated in this. We begin putting up signs months ago for our campaign and went out of our way to place them so as to make it easier for city workers. The city however took down signs here and there, even though according to the Constitution and the WA State Supreme Court in Collier v Tacoma, their actions are wrong.

Then we started getting real traction, even on a shoestring campaign budget, our simple message of liberty is unstoppable. Conversations kept spreading as we went head to head with lawless government in incidents like this one in Ephrata. We were even thrown out of the public park in Moses Lake for giving out brochures. But we kept gaining ground and coming out on top in polls.

It’s almost primary time and about a week ago Moses Lake officials decided to ramp up. Without even speaking to us about a code that does not even exist, they swept thru and tore down our signs from public property, leaving up the signs of other candidates in the same places. At first we thought it was vandals. But on a tip from witness, we called the city and they admitted to removing the signs.

There are of course laws against this sort of thing. It appears that city employees are in direct violation of 18 U.S. Code § 241, 18 U.S. Code § 242, 18USC245 and 18 U.S. Code § 595. All under the guise of keeping the city clean and safe. Above you see where I went into the city hall and they confirmed their actions. They assert that if I want to put signs I have to sign a contract with them and have their permission.

The worst is that they dare to require a permit for speech. But there’s more. We agree that everyone must be responsible for their actions. Yet consider the ludicrous nature of a permit saying we must agree to be responsible for any sign we’ve given out with our name on it. It’s the same as saying Chevrolet must be responsible for any damage caused by any vehicle with their name on it. No matter who was using it.

This is not about safety or law or justice. It’s about control. Who would sign this ridiculous permit? Someone unwilling to stand up for the law and our rights. The level of unprofessionalism you’ll see in the video is astounding as these public servants ignore me and finally call police when I keep trying to get simple answers regrading the law they are operating under.

We Will NOT get a permit for free speech!

It’s unclear if anyone else is being targeted, but the targeting against our campaign is clear. If we put out a sign on public property with other signs, city officials rush to tear it down. Sadly most the other candidates went along with this. Makes you wounder. If they won’t stand up to corruption locally, will they do it while in office.

As it turns out, the city of Moses Lake does not even have a law or code stating this permit is legally required – It’s a policy they just made up.

One of our volunteers contacted the Moses Lake on the record. Clair Harden asserted the public property is “private property of the City of Moses Lake” and community Development Director Gilbert Alvarado said the following.

  • The “Sign Placement Agreement” is not part of the Municipal Code but a policy directive set forth by the City Council.
  • It is internal policy to initiate enforcement action of these policy directives, regardless of whether the directive is adopted as code.
  • The only way to find out about any of these policy directives is to ask the City of Moses Lake, find it on the website, or read the minutes of the City Council Meeting. Not by scouring the codes.

The city is acting under color of law, but in violation of law. We see this at the federal level too. Making up rules that have no accountability and no basis in law or the Constitution. Now we are just a few weeks before a primary election for US Congress and Moses Lake thinks they can do whatever they want, regardless of local law, their oath, or the constitution.  That my friends is anarchy!

So what’s happening next. We put up signs up, they keep taking them down. We are trying to find accountability and spread the word. We filed a report for destruction of private property with the Grant County Sheriff, but it remains to be seen if they will act on the crimes being committed. People in Moses Lake are rallying however and we are getting lots of emails from folks asking for signs and people have been gathering on the streets of the city waving them in the air.

My message has always been liberty. Conversations like this are the greatest tool in a real plan to inform the public of corruption and take our country back. We must stand now and a Congressman’s job is not just to vote, it’s to support our Constitution, our liberty and our rights. I will continue to do just that and I will not bow to tyranny. Please support of campaign so we can get the message out.

— Gavin Seim

UPDATE 1: They keep stealing signs, but locals are rallying against the city and offering their private property. After going to get signs back this week, it turns out they gave them to someone else but had no idea who. Poor responsibility on their part. We later managed to track the supporter down ourselves. Next I decided to put up a sign on the public property before I left. Watch what happens as I catch the city red handed. We are still waiting to hear from the Sheriff who has done apparently nothing as yet. This is not over however and the city keeps digging a bigger hole.

Other references worth noting:

  • Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 1943
  • Norton v. Shelby County, 1886.
“An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed.”
  • Sherar v. Cullen, 1973
“..there be no sanction or penalty imposed upon one because of his exercise of constitutional rights.”

Gavin, I appreciate much of what you say and would probably even vote for you if you didn’t come off as such a mad man while you were saying it. I fear that if you were elected you would become “that lunatic” from Eastern Washington that has no tact and no decorum who can gain neither personal influence for your self nor traction for your ideas in congress. Even the most important message, when delivered in rants and rambling castigation. I hate the status quo, but from what I’ve seen out of your propaganda and smear tactics I doubt you will ever make a difference. You don’t inspire confidence my man, and that’s sad because I’d love to believe in you.

Jeremy I think you’re talking about the opposition. Nothing I do is a rant or ramble. But those that don’t like me or being challenged rant a great deal. I will turn DC on it’s ear, and that a good thing. If standing firm does not inspire confidence in some, it’s only because you’re used to silvery tongued politicians who have damaged peoples the perception confidence.

Wow, what a perfect response Gav! I say perfect because it is 100% truth vs. 100% B***S**T. Applause to you, sir.

I think your point is that for too long, many people running for government always “feel” they must say the “right” thing the “right” way. For you, you “tell” people the truth – even if it hurts. Personally, I don’t “want” to tell my kids they are doing the wrong thing, I “tell” them what they are doing is wrong. It makes me unpopular but at the end of the day, I’m the best dad for doing so.

Keep it up Gav, I’m ready for a MAJOR change in the way the government operates.

Gavin I like a lot of things you said but what I can’t understand is you say you stand up for things in the constitution but you turn around and run to Mexico so what’s that tell us

Hey Gav, hope all is well with you, your never going to believe this one, but well after the shit that you have seen I think you might. Don’t know if you remember I was the guy in Moses Lake that was in my own yard and officer Richard Francis MLPD thought he was going to take out by attacking me from behind I did not allow that to happen and stuck his ass down in my driveway and told him he was in violation of my rights then let him up and allowed him to arrest me under duress. Anyway we got all 5 erroneous charges dismissed in court including a planting of drug possession charge. We ended up suing and settling out of court, not really my choice but lawyer said trial would be to expensive. I would not have minded going to trial cause I felt there was a lot of arguments in my favor and opportunities to make changes about the way they think they run shit around here and take no responsibility for there out of control actions, but who knows. Well looks like they are going to give me another try this time city cop and state trooper. These two genius rookies falsely arrested me for DUI while I was visiting from Arizona. I was born in Ephrata and lived in the Columbia river basin from 1967- 1990 with my family that still lives here. refused physical movement sober testing cause I was wearing flip flops so agreed to eye test after trooper told me it was required by law that I get out of the car, state trooper says he got 6 out 6 points failed. Then asks me to walk and turn after i told him that i wasn’t going to do any feet tests so he gets the breath test out and I asked him if it was required by law that I submit he tells me no it was all strictly voluntary, so I said I was not doing any more test he said OK your under arrest for DUI, city cop took me into station where I blew 4 times .005 .004 .006 .005 after that he still put me in cell as shown on his body cam and locked it up for several hours and it could have been for a months cause on his body cam shows locking me in but never getting me out, cause his training officer told him to turn of his body cam so they could talk; he also turns off the body cam in the field just as the trooper says as far as PC goes. He just says in his written report he released me on my own recog. Nothing about time and no body cam to gauge time. So yeah just venting to you cause you might understand, or might know of some lawyer that would want to take case but more importantly for me to get it written down early, thanks Gavin if you get a chance to read . Get back with me if you get a chance !

Heh yeah right dude you think Gavin rants and gets out of control, listen to Alex Jones. I just discovered Gavin today and all I have seen is a calm, collected, well informed individual who will not comply with unconstitutional law. Gav, you are truly an inspiration to me. I wish I could articulate myself as well as you do. Get BIG on em!

So Gav I have to say you raise some great points. I also must admit it is more than a little bit saddening that the city will not let itself be held accountable for what it does! though I must admit that it truly is not a shock to me. I lived in moses lake from the time I was ten years old. An from the time I was old enough to understand politics I have always hear tell of the city being ran by a group of fake, two faced people. they are the reason many big corporations have avoided the city. the city wanted to charge Microsoft as well as IBM and a few other groups outrageous sums of money to build there businesses there, and now it seems they still will not let the things that should be black and white be black and white. I hope for the sake of moses lake and may of the other places in the united states that you sir make it to where you have set your goal. I know that a single vote may not make a very big difference but I have seen what you stand for and I can fell the honesty in your words. Please uphold the things you claim to and there may be hop for this country yet.

After watching a few videos of this guy, he seems to be the real deal. I especially liked his checkpoint refusal. Gavin seems to be a real threat to the establishment’s satanic plan of enslaving humanity. Waking people up like a slap in the face. Our liberties supersede their satanic unconstitutional laws and we need to get outside of that comfort zone of conveniently conforming to totalitarian authority. I’ll be casting my symbolic vote for Gavin from here in Indiana. I suggest all you in WA do the same.

I was on board until you made reference to Satan…..Are you actually inferring that Satan is involved?

      Dan - July 31, 2014 Reply

What is even more concerning to me is that someone could believe that great evils such as slavery, lawlessness, and totalitarianism has no source but man alone. I am unable to devorce evil from the devil. However, this is the popular view in our country and worldwide by a landslide, 56% globally just with professing Christians & Muslims, and many other religions. Evil has a source, and it is not man. I believe every man has the divine spark of God’s goodness breathed into him or her, and it is necessary to liberate man from the evil that has enslaved him.

May YHWH bless you and keep you Gavin, and be a lampstand on which God places His light of liberty for the world.

on board with the satan and all reference. The order of the oligarchs is luciferian doctrine. (the practice of occultism to a secular set of principles, using mythological references as a form of symbolism and cultural tradition.) Dont attempt to crazite an individual who knows a little more than you hon…ok?
These are those belonging to the lucifer that old dragon known as the devil.

Satan is just an esoteric term for the darkness in the minds of men, and “satanic” is certainly a valid adjective to use when describing such a tyranny. God and Satan are just two different polarities of the same thing. Tyranny is satanic. Where the spirit of the lord is, there is Liberty.

A public servant that will not talk to the public is not doing their job. Incompetence seems to be the norm for public servants.

This is one of the best comedy sketches I have seen. It reminds me of the old Firesign Theater. Simply hilarious. Keep up the good work. I think Second City is watching and if you are lucky, Saturday Night Live. You need to work on your “uh -uh” while you think of how to make your next point, but I believe you have the potential of being the next Chevy Chase. Just keep practicing and I believe you have a chance at the next JackAss movie.

Gavin I agree with your stand on the constitution, but I would suggest that you hold your thoughts of change until you get into office, as when you are working against those who are in office already and they don’t know the laws but are all willing to take freedom away though their way of intimidation with the ones who have no clue of the constitution, I have seen your videos and when they lose there battle with you they call the police to take you away as a nuisance, or to intimidate you, but remember that when they cannot back their beliefs they change the cause…………..Keep up your stand on the Constitution, but less combatant with the ones who have no clue and follow the lemmings over the cliff.

Gavin, I’ve seen a lot of examples of the corruption, and the way some of these killjoys operate in this town. It as nauseating as a truckload of dead carp. Those of you who choose to support and accept this act, well, at least you know what you are.

Hello Gavin,

I really respect what you’re doing. I would like to interview and help push your cause to a higher level attention through the state of Washington, and hopefully kick start a return to the people knowing their rights on all levels.

Please use the email I submitted by and contact me and let’s arrange to have this up and going prior to your August 5th election.

Thank you.

Hi Gav,
You need to hire an attorney and file suit against the City of Moses Lake. They obviously do not understand case law, they do not understand the scope of their office as public servants, and they are maliciously intervening in your campaign efforts. Sadly, they fail to include the upholding of the U.S. Constitutional, and Washington State Constutional rights of their citizens in their police department’s vision statement!

Vision Statement
We are dedicated to creating an organization based on trust, respect, and teamwork. Our employees are the heart of the organization. With our core values to guide us; we envision a future where we provide the highest quality police service to the community.

Core Values
The Moses Lake Police Department’s core values articulate the type of police department we are. Our Core Values are our beliefs and actions as individuals and as a department.

These values establish a foundation for everything we do and are confirmed by the actions of every member of the department. We the members of the Moses Lake Police Department value

Professionalism – with character and pride
Integrity – with honesty and truthfulness
Compassion – with valor and dedication
Service – with competency and teamwork

Hang in there! You are making a difference by exposing the underbelly of your local government and holding them accountable. No one does that anymore, so of course they see you as a nuisance.

Really, though, you should at least consult an attorney and present the evidence you possess. That would make a difference as well!

Wishing you the best!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! I think you should take up the interview offer and blow this thing up National. Hopefully it will also lead to the termination of that criminal city atty. while also getting him convicted for implementing and enforcing bogus and unconstitutional laws or rules. Furthermore the sheriff and the city worker who removed the signs should be terminated immediately along with any other parties involved in the attempts to STEAL this election. ….MAY GOD hold you up and make your case known all over America…expose all those crusty scaley establishment scabs!

I clearly see your enthusiasm in trying to force conversation and enlightenment that needs to be had to so many falsely informed individuals including and not limited to “the messengers” of any given agency or government. It has occurred to me that collectively we are witnessing a minority of citizens actually victim to deliberate and non deliberate false mis-attribution from government and many agencies. I refer to them as victims because the uninformed can be misguided and abused so easily. Some of these victims become employees to the State at alarming rates and a perpetual falsely mis-attributed state of being becomes cemented into the minds of these victims who feel duty to then impose the learned mis-attributions onto the majority of society. These victims know, no better…they are led and told to take action on false pretense and falsely mis-attributed laws and authority. I agree with your tact in speaking with people you see engaging in collective UnConstitutional acts, as they need to be confronted personally in order to become accountable to the collective that despises accountability… One conversation can spark the victim agent of the collective to become aware of their accountability in the collective puzzle, that has collectively grown UnConstitutional. Any and all policies, ordinances or laws in violation or in direct contradiction to the Constitution are VOID DE FACTO upon enactment, as goes with contract… The power hungry politicians and their attorneys have just about ruined freedom and liberty in this country altogether….I say if you get off controlling other humans, go move to North Korea and join their government …at least that way the politician and their attorneys will fit right in.

Hi Gavin,
The first video I seen of yours was the check point where the police had two female state atty office women try (and fail miserably) to go against you in regards to recording. I could tell you were someone who knows the law, not just someone who knows the basics of the constitution, I wonder though, because I’ve watched more since then and while I applaud you for being courageous and standing up for our god given rights, it doesn’t seem to do any good, they still get away with everything, while I don’t want to give up, I am disheartened, because regardless of us knowing our rights, they still arrest, oppress, and kill us everyday. Please help me to understand how we can change things, I know not enough people stand up, and most people just spread and share videos, make their comments but when put in the spot to stand up for be arrested, they give up and decide to let revenue generators )which is all the police are) bully them.

What things have improved in the county you live because of you taking a stand? Please tell me it’s not for all for nought please give us hope. If I can ever vote for you from Florida, I give you my word I will.
