They came together in Felony defiance and violated SB941.
People need to understand that this was not simply a protest. It was a historic stand along the lines of Olympia last December. Hundreds of armed patriots came together and defied Oregon legislation, openly violating it in Felony disobedience.
My family and I drove to Salem Oregon to stand with these patriots at an I Will Not Comply stand organized by Reuben Eliason against SB941. This lawless legislation was similar to i594 in WA, which made it a Felony to purchase or pass a weapon without a government background check.
My wife Sondra and four kids along with 3% leader Mike Vanderboegh and Oath Keepers founder Stuart Rhodes.
Background checks give the goverment permission to deny someone a gun and limit the peoples purchasing of them. In truth under the law they do not have the power to limit a free mans absolute right in any way. Background checks are a precursor to confiscation and should not be tolerated in any form because they are 100% illegal.
About 400-800 of patriots came together to stand in principled defiance at the capital in Salem. I was honored to speak along with patriots like 3% leader Mike Vanderboegh,Oath Keepers founder Stuart Rhodes and many other speakers and patriot groups who are working to raise the call for liberty.
Bloody revolution must be the last resort of good men. Let us stand now while we can still stand in relative peace.
I for one appeal to heaven. I believe it’s time to get on our knees before God and stand on our feet before tyrants. It’s time to end pettiness and open our eyes to the America we have lost. To rise; to stand on moral principle, to repent of sin and apathy. Put away our wickedness, our fear and our cowardice and turn to liberty and God. Rise up to restore liberty for our children.
I am willing to stand and I am willing to die for what is just and right. But only on principle and faith and justice.
I counted the days. Because I was right at the center of it as 12/13/14 dawned cold and foggy in Olympia. We had refused to apply for a permit to gather at the Capita and we stepped into the morning air with a little uncertainly and too little sleep. After a month of planning, history would be made today and we the people would nullify unconstitutional gun legislation in a manner America had only talked about. The outcome could mean great victory, or revolution. I felt a heavy weight on my shoulders, thinking of that April morning in 1775 on Lexington green.
It was not my day, it was all of ours. It came from the effort of a dedicated few who refused to back down and from many who stood with us. People like Kit, Anthony, Maria, Sondra, Nathan and others. — But not all who called themselves patriots stood, some that should have been first in line, opposed the stand. We forged on. I’m reminded that we were taught to pray for good leaders. Perhaps we failed to realize was that sometimes you have to step up and become those leaders. That’s what these patriots did. They came from far and wide to set a an example and showed America how to stand principled for liberty.
Yet I had begun this event and I had challenged every shred of compliant behavior that we were used to following. If it went wrong, I would bear that forever. That weight was heavy and some days I was pushed to my knees. I asked for help with our burden and I knew I was not the only one carrying it. I said to God “Jesus once spoke of calling on twelve legions of angels. I would like to ask for that many.”
Out younger patriots keeping the fire ready for the BURNING of the gun permits.
As the day rose, figures emerged from the fog onto the green, carrying flags, guns and courage. They carried their pride, their hope and their children in their arms. They came to stand in defiance of tyranny. The State capital tried to hold us back that morning by making it hard to get gear and resources in. But we stood our ground and they backed down. The officers ultimately standing with liberty, and recognizing that today was not a day for negotiations, but for the upholding of oaths.
The patriots stood on the green, armed and ready. Militia and mothers, fathers and children. Old and young. Some could not be there, but stood with us in prayer and support. America stood in defiance, not only of this legislation, but of lawless government. It was a picture of history unfolding on the soggy green. One thousand, two thousand, more. It was not a protest. It was a rebellion. A Revolution of hearts that made mainstream media and false patriots gasp. But they could not stop the message, for this day the patriots said “We Will Not Comply” and they set a standard for what it means to stand.
We burned carry permits, we bought and sold guns in defiance of this new legislation. We did not ask for liberty. We demanded that it be respected and we begin the long march to take back America.
For me 12 13 14 was a blur of red, white, blue and beauty; despite a foggy colorless day. I remember standing on the hill, wondering if there was tyranny waiting beyond the mist, or a snipers bullet aimed at my heart. I didn’t even realize I had a security detail following my every move. I dismissed the fears, remembering those twelve legions of angels waiting in the wings, just in case. Today was a day of liberty, come what may.
Light the fires of liberty, wear firm resolve on your sleeve. A great march has begun, like a sea of impenetrable ice cracked, a shot heard round the world. We will not strike the first blow, nor fire the first shot. We will keep moving to restore law and stand our ground to protect our families. The fine patriots stand against all enemies who would violate liberty, foreign or domestic.
So on that misty green, chilled with dampness, we stood united. This was what America really looks like. We nullified i594 and we continue to do so each day. But even more important, we started an idea, one of bold liberty and from it a Declaration of liberty, signed by hundreds. This firm declaration flies in the face of every shred of modern neutered education and cries liberty from the rooftops! It was like nothing seen since 1776 and as I watched those patriots line up by hundreds to sign, some wept for the liberty that has been lost and my heart swelled with pride.
We step onto the green knowing that America has failed and sinned. So we kneel in an appeal to heaven and for the rectitude of our intentions. Then we stand boldly, facing the wind and the tyrants whip. Preparing not to be beaten, but to tear it from their filthy hands.
Update 1 Year Later: Today marks the anniversary of the day more than 2000 patriots came ARMED to the State Capital and defied felony gun restrictions in front of the world.
We disobeyed that lawless law and than 700 signed the Declaration of Affirmation. More events followed; not protests, but principled defiance into to Oregon and beyond. A year later, despite naysayers and failed lawsuits from weak kneed gun groups, i594 has not been enforced and there have been no arrests as it is openly ignored by those with the principle to stand for liberty. We showed the world that our rights do not come from legislators, but from God.
The fight is far from over. Today is a reminder for us to appeal to heaven; to stand UNITED in principled defiance for liberty. We nee to stop hating and start loving our neighbor. We need to unite. We Stand. — Gavin Seim 12/13/15
Gav stopped for a prayer for America and courage to take her back.
12/13/14 a shot heard round the world. Without a shot fired!
by Gav Seim: For years people have been talking about nullification. Today the world is talking, the tyrants are reeling and most politicians don’t even know what to say as they sit in slack jawed silence. It’s day for the history books. Because despite the millions spent by tyrants, one of the most lawless anti-gun bills in American history, i594, is DEAD! Defeated with a few thousand dollars and the principled rag tag, gun toting patriots who stood up and said NO MORE!
Here’s what you need to know: i594 is NOT law. It is legally void and has been legally nullified! You don’t need to obey it. The action that has been talked about by liberty groups for years, was taken on by brave patriots from all over America on Saturday. By God’s grace and bold liberty, we had victory here! We got on our knees and we stood bold on our feet. Not a single shot fired, nor a piece of litter left on the ground.
How it Happened?
The day i594 passed the vote, I announced the I Will Not Comply Rally, to complete what I had I talked about in this video a month before. Thanks to a great team of people like the Bosworth’s,Kit Lange, and many others, patriots united. We did it without permits, judges, negotiations or political favors.
The key was liberty, principle and resolve. We would not even waver to comply with the normally required permit to hold this rally at the capital. Most gun groups refused to stand with us because we would not play political games, some openly opposed us, but to their shame the people stood anyways. They came from all over America because we were finally making a real stand, instead of playing politics.
We showed the world that the collective has no authority to vote away the rights of the individual. We are done negotiating for our nights.
How was it nullified?
Nullification of bad law means to render impotent, void or powerless. You know those laws about chewing gum on Sunday or holding hands in public? They are null and void, even if still on the books. That’s what we did here. We still look to our legislators to remove it. In fact we have empowered them to do so and some of them even stood with us. I can’t say how proud I am of my team who helped make this rally happen and the people who stood with us in person, with donations and with prayers.
When 594 passed, we did not wait. Using momentum instead of playing politics, we won a victory for liberty that can be duplicated all over and used to end lawless law. Act swiftly — Let me stand with ten principled for liberty, than a thousand who bow to tyranny and lick the boots of tyrants.
The Lewis County prosecutor and Sheriff just said they would NOT ARREST OR CHARGE people for what we did here. This has huge implications, because for any prosecutor to charge an individual after this point, would raise the issue of selective enforcement. Sure they could try and prosecute folks. But now that 594 has been nullified by the people, enforcement is unlikely to work. We the people must disobey lawless law.
This was the largest felony disobedience rally in American history. We traded guns, we bought them, we sold them. We defied tyranny and the officers stood by and upheld their oath. — America just did what has never been done. The media will downplay numbers, they will pretend that the WSP did not act because we were not in violation. We controlled the conversation, not the media.
Cope Reynolds speaking to the patriots joined Sheriff Mack, Mike Vanderboegh, Rep Elizabeth Scott and many others.
Throughout the day, 2000-3000 came with hundreds more watching live online. We did exactly what we came for and this is just the beginning. We signed the declaration that day and what a beautiful thing all those signatures are.
Where were our National and State gun rights and liberty groups? I’m sad to report they were nowhere to be seen, even though they were openly invited. We did not protest, we violated. We did not ask, we demanded. We the people affirmed liberty and law, right up to the end where lawless concealed carry permits were thrown into open flames.
Permits, infringements and gun restrictions of all kinds must go. These are not law, they are lawless. It’s not about guns, it’s about liberty and we are taking back our liberty. Do NOT comply, nullify! Stand bold. Stand proud, stand principled.
That’s what WA State says, after today’s implementation of i594!
But as we know, law the violates the Constitution is not law at all.
So WE STAND! The time has come to stop being silent. Our rights are not open to negotiation, they are not granted at the whims of legislators, Congress or judges. ALL gun restrictions are lawless and it’s time to take back our liberty. We talk about it in today’s video.
On Dec 13th WE STAND for a shout that will ring across the world. I WILL NOT COMPLY!
TO: All media organizations and groups. FROM: Gavin Seim, lead organizer of the “I WILL NOT Comply Rally”.
Initiative 594 just passed in Washington State, bringing on residents mandatory gun background checks and making it a felony to privately purchase or even hand a gun to a friend without government permission. We the people of Washington State will not comply with this lawless legislation. The highest law is that of liberty and our Constitution. Our rights will be upheld.
On Dec 13th 2014, just after the law is legally in effect, we stand and disobey the illegal restrictions of i594. We must not wait for our rights to be decided but act swiftly to affirm them. In under 72 hours over 5000 have RSVP’d to this stand on Capitol grounds in Olympia and assert their God given rights.
Joining in the event will be speakers, patriots and families from across the State to remind our legislators that lawless legislation will not be obeyed and to teach others about their rights.
Will you bow down and lick the boots of tyrants, or will you stand for the liberty of your children? We are not asking permission, we are not standing silent. Our birthright is not theirs to take. We stand peaceful, principled, firm and resolute for the liberty so many have perished for. We stand to uphold law and we will not comply with lawlessness from government.
We Stand! Stand with us.
In Liberty – Gavin Seim.
